Sunlight has positive effects on the body, such as facilitating the synthesis of vitamin D or changing to a more positive mood. However, many people are not aware that an excessive and unprotected exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays, specially to A and B radiation (UVA and UVB) can have very harmful effects on health, such as reduced immune defences, premature skin ageing, cataracts in the eyes, and even skin cancer.
